IEC membership offers many benefits to our partner contractors, such as:

Apprenticeship and Training Program

The IEC offers a four-year program in Electrical Apprenticeship and Training where apprentices attend classes in related instruction and work full-time with the contractor employer. Upon the completion of our program, apprentices completed 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 616 hours of instruction.

Apprentice Applicant Program

The Apprentice Applicant Service provides member contractors with a waiting list of applicants from our Apprenticeship and Training Program. Contractor members may review the applications that have been submitted to the IEC office and interview them for employment.

Shared Man Program

When a contractor has a surplus of good workers, they may offer them to other contractors in the program on a shared basis. The Host Firm maintains its personnel without having to pay employees who do not have work. The electrician does not lose time during a slow cycle and IEC members are able to maintain a qualified workforce.
